Obstacles or Dreams

IT’S MY LIFE
Follow your dreams!  This should be the ONE mandate that is given to us as soon as we are able to understand our native language.  However, as we all know, life does not even begin to happen that way.  When we are given the gift of life, we are blessed with an enormous opportunity to make things better for ourselves, and for others.  Simply put, your dreams belong to you!  You and you alone are the only one responsible for achieving your dreams no matter what obstacles stand in your way.

Obstacles come in all shapes and sizes.  Two of the most common obstacles in life are getting a particular job or making a certain amount of money.  Notwithstanding, there are even bigger obstacles lurking in the shadows: Anti-Friends (AF’s) and Regret.

SHEEP’S CLOTHING
The DCP says beware of AF’s.  These are NOT the people that blatantly put you down.  No, No, No – these are the people that you may speak with on a regular basis and smile in your face.  However, subconsciously they have a hidden agenda.  They constantly use you.  They secretly compete with you.  They don’t want you to have more than what they have.  They are jealous, and want to continue to “one up” you. They suck the energy right out of you with their negative attitudes.  Don’t be in denial.  The truth is, AF’s are in your life.  They are everywhere!   They are at work.  They are at home.  They are at your favorite shopping mall.  Sadly enough and this should be against the law, but they are also in your family!  The DCP says in order to stay focused on your dreams you must evaluate the people in your life and determine if they have a positive or negative influence on you.

Another obstacle you will face as you follow your dreams is a little word that simply dominates people’s lives.  One would be wise to understand how this word operates.  The word is…REGRET.  There are few things on this earth that are more powerful than regret.  If given the chance, regret will imprison you, and as me and my friend use to joke…”regret doesn’t care.”  Regret doesn’t care how old or how young you are.  It doesn’t care if you are black or white, yellow or brown.  Regret is an EODD (Equal Opportunity Dream Destroyer).  This is what keeps so many people enslaved to their past, and controlled in their future.  The DCP is here to tell you that you can break free, and you can follow your dreams and succeed at the level you want to succeed in life.  Don’t take life laying down…you have to find ways to convert your regret into an obtainable target for where you want to be in the future.

MAKE THE CHOICE
So, the undeniable question when dealing with obstacles is, should you lead or should you follow?  The DCP says you must lead as you follow!  Lead your life!  Follow your dreams!  When you stop and think about it, don’t you deserve to follow your dreams?  Don’t you deserve the life you want?  Don’t you deserve to make decisions in life for yourself and for your family?  At some point in your life you have to stand up and say to yourself that you want to live life on your terms…and that’s what The DCP is all about!  Put your goals and dreams on paper.  Work toward them everyday!  Never take a day off, because the day you take off could be the day you breakthrough!

There is a very popular saying (and song): What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.  Well, The DCP says what doesn’t kill you ONLY makes you stronger IF you are mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually focused to get stronger!  You’re going to need all your strength to overcome bad relationships, past mistakes, self doubt, and limited thinking to achieve your dreams.  So, from now on when you meet an obstacle, tell yourself I’m stronger than this, I deserve better than this, I know I can make it.  10 times out of 10 – you will be correct!

– Remember, life comes at you fast…you will need a fast car and superior driving skill to avoid obstacles and keep up with your dreams or they will certainly leave you behind!
